The Toys, Models and Collectables and Sporting Sale on 16th April saw good overall prices and a hammer total that exceeded the top estimate for the sale.
Highlights of the sale included a Star Wars Jawa figure in vinyl cape, which was in Excellent condition and sold for £400 (plus buyer’s premium) against an estimate of £100-150. A London Underground Jack and Jill Fairy Tale Poster from 1932, with cut-out scenes and a poem telling the story sold for £380 and a Corgi Gift Set 40 for The Avengers selling for £380.
The sale also saw a further tranche of the Tom Stanley Shipping Collection sold, with strong prices throughout. Top lots included a group of ten large ceramic platters from shipping companies such as Watts, Allan Line and Johnston Line that sold for £800. A further large collection of Corgi Aviation Archive models sold well too, realising prices well above estimate.
The sale achieved a total hammer price of £43,910 with an 96% sold rate for 344 lots.
