Tiffany & Co. has been synonymous with style and quality since the mid-1800s.
Over the decades, the firm has handled some of the world’s most important diamonds (including the Tiffany diamond - a fancy yellow diamond of 128.54 carats), introduced revolutionary design to the jewellery world including the Tiffany setting, which is used in the vast majority of engagement rings. It brought gemstones Kunzite, Morganite, Tanzanite and Tsavorite to the world of jewellery design and along the way bought and re-designed the French Crown Jewels, created trophies for major sporting events, and employed creative and artistic designers to work not only on product design, but also on theatrical shop windows.
A Lapis Lazuli and Diamond Cufflink and Button Suite
Sold for £1,600 plus buyer’s premium
One of its most iconic collections was the “Return to Tiffany” collection, which debuted in the 1960s. Originally this was a range of keyrings, with each item having its own serial number inscribed to allow any keys that were lost to be reconnected with the owner via Tiffany. This collection was to become one of their most successful, with pieces from this collection continuing to be fashionable well into this century, although the function of the returns service is no more!
An Enamel Brooch, by Tiffany & Co.
Sold for £2,200 plus buyer’s premium
With such a fantastic heritage, it is understandable that items from this jewellery brand are highly sought after today. Over the years Tennants has sold many items of Tiffany jewellery, including most recently in the November Fine Jewellery, Watches and Silver Sale a Lapis Lazuli and Diamond Cufflink and Button Suite and an Enamel Brooch realistically modelled as a winking owl on a branch.

A Pair of Heart Earrings, by Elsa Peretti for Tiffany & Co.
Estimate: £300-500 plus buyer’s premium
Matching this lot is a Pair of Heart Earrings, again by Elsa Peretti; gold earrings are always desirable at auction, and the earrings are a beautiful statement in their own right, as well as in partnership with the matching necklace, and would make a perfect Valentine’s Day gift.
An 18 Carat Gold Cultured Pearl and Diamond Signature Necklace, by Tiffany & Co.
Estimate: £400-600 plus buyer’s premium
An 18 Carat Gold Cultured Pearl and Diamond Signature Necklace is a beautifully wearable design and is estimated at £400-600. The golden rule of wearing pearls is ‘last thing on, first thing off’! The nacre can be affected by cosmetics amongst other things, so handling pearls as little as possible and minimising contact with anything that might affect the lustre such as perfume is essential to maintain their good condition.
A Pair of 18 Carat Gold Diamond and Cultured Pearl Signature Earrings, by Tiffany & Co.
Estimate: £400-600 plus buyer’s premium
Also set with cultured pearls is a Pair of 18 Carat Gold Cultured Pearl Signature Earrings. They complement the necklace above, but again, would work equally well being worn alone, or alongside other items. They carry a pre-sale estimate of £400-600.
An 18 Carat Gold Lariat Necklace, by Tiffany & Co.
Estimate: £300-500 plus buyer’s premium
Finally, is an 18 Carat Gold Lariat Necklace, which offers a chance to own a piece of classic Tiffany & Co. styling discreet enough for regular wear (estimate £300-500).
Most of these lots have accompanying paperwork, and this provenance helps to give buyers on the secondary market confidence that they are buying a genuine article - a helpful accompaniment to a lot.
