Preview: Stamps, Postal History & Postcards

Tennants Auctioneers’ Stamps, Postal History and Postcard Sale on 6^th July is set to be one of the largest in volume and value, with several exciting original collections fresh to the market. Highlights of these collections are illustrated below.

Other philatelic highlights in the sale include a specialised collection of St. Helena stamps and postal history, and a very extensive and impressive holding of Russian postal history with a particular focus on the Post Offices Abroad. The latter collector’s interests also extended through the Baltics to excellent Scandinavian Locals, as well as around the Eastern Mediterranean from the Balkans to Palestine and Egypt.

Amongst the postcards offered in the sale are fantastic albums from a dedicated collector, of high-quality and comprehensively assembled, which include transport related cards of Leeds, Skipton, Lancaster, Teesside and Middlesbrough as well as excellent general Yorkshire cards.

The fully illustrated online catalogue will be available from mid-June, and a printed catalogue will be available on request.
