Preview: Jewellery in the Fine Jewellery, Watches & Silver Sale

10th June 2022.

Tennants Auctioneers’ Fine Jewellery, Watches and Silver Sale on 16th July is set to include 120 lots of attractive and beautiful pieces of jewellery, with a selection of fine jewels by Boodles, Bulgari, Chopard, Tiffany, Hennell and Cartier. Highlights of which includes a French Coral, Onyx, Diamond and Seed Pearl Tassel Pendant on a Chain by Cartier (estimate: £4,000-6,000 plus buyer’s premium), a Pair of 18 Carat Gold Diamond ‘Raindance’ Earrings by Boodles (estimate: £2,000-3,000), and a Starfish Pendant and Matching Earrings, designed by Elsa Peretti for Tiffany & Co. (estimate: £1,000-1,500).

The highlight of the sale however, leading a fine offering of rings in the sale, is an 18 Carat Gold Diamond Solitaire Ring of significant size and weighing 7.5 carat approximately (estimate: £25,000-35,000). Further notable rings include a circa 1900 Ruby and Diamond Ring, which is set with a natural Burmese Ruby (estimate: £15,000-20,000), and an 18 Carat White Gold Sapphire and Diamond Cluster Ring (estimate: £12,000-18,000).

An interesting selection of period pieces is led by a Victorian Diamond and Pearl Brooch, circa 1850 (estimate: £2,000-4,000). This magnificent example of Victorian regal quality jewellery, set with a natural pearl to the centre of a crowned heart, would likely originally have starred as the centre jewel of a tiara or part of a corsage piece. A beautifully articulated pair of Art Deco Emerald and Diamond Drop Earrings, circa 1930 are also remarkable (estimate: £3,000-5,000).

A very high-quality Burmese Ruby and Diamond Bracelet leads a notable collection of bangles and bracelets, on offer with an estimate of £8,000-12,000, and a stylish and finely made 18 Carat Gold Sapphire and Diamond Bangle, offered with an estimate of £4,000-6,000. An elegant and impressive Diamond Pendant is also set to attract much interest; with a total estimated diamond weight of approximately 6.3 carat, it is offered with an estimate of £6,000-8,000.
