Ahead of their sale in 2023, we are delighted to present an exhibition of fine quilts dating from circa 1830 – 1935 from Britain, America and Canada. At the heart of the exhibition will be quilts from the collection of Ron Simpson. Canadian born, Simpson began collecting antique quilts during his career in the theatrical world in both Canada and New York. The Ron Simpson quilts will be joined by rare earlier examples from a Private Collection.
The quilts in the exhibition represent all the major trends in quilting from across the century, and they will subsequently be sold in the Costume, Accessories & Textiles Sale, 26th May 2023.
