Tennants comply with UK and EU law relating to the sale of material from endangered species and current health and safety regulations.

MATERIAL FROM ENDANGERED SPECIES

Clients intending to import/export any item derived from natural history specimens into/from a non-European country should first check for any Import/Export and possession restrictions prior to bidding/selling.

Certain species are also subject to CITES regulations when exporting/importing these items out of the EU.  CITES regulations are given on UK CITES website or may be obtained from:

Those species that are covered by the US Endangered Species Act (USESA) or The Migratory Bird Treaty Act (MBTA): potential US bidders should check with USF&W (US Fish and Wildlife Services) for trade/possession restrictions in the US prior to bidding.

• CITES Licenses for Sale

The sale of certain materials and species of animals are subject to CITES regulations, and must be sold with a CITES license. A specialist will inform you if you need a CITES license to sell your items, and if a license is required, Tennants can apply for it on your behalf for a fee of £51.

FIRE REGULATIONS

Soft furnishings made with synthetic fillings must carry Fire Safety labels. Items with no labels, or labels removed cannot be sold.

PAT TESTING

All electrical items must receive a Portable Appliance Test (PAT), for which there is a £5 per item charge. We reserve the right to dispose of unsafe equipment without your prior permission.
